Eye on Equity
OEA offers professional learning to advance equity in our schools and support members who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). These include:
- Equity SPARKS – A retreat and community dedicated solely for OEA members of color to build community, strengthen skills, and become active equity champions.
- Learning Communities – Opportunities change each term but have included exploring Oregon’s ethnic studies standards, intersectionality, tribal history resources, and becoming an ally for people of color.
- Book Studies – Read recent and influential books on issues of equity in and out of the classroom.
